ABOUT ME

ABOUT ME

Hi, I’m MaryJo, the counselor behind GracePoint Counseling. I provide mental health counseling in Bellingham, WA, supporting individuals and couples throughout Whatcom County as they navigate anxiety, relationship challenges, and personal growth.

My work is rooted in a deep belief that healing happens best in a space where you feel safe, seen, and genuinely understood. I don’t believe you are defined by your past or your struggles. Instead, I see each person as capable of growth, resilience, and meaningful change..

MY APPROACH TO COUNSELING

My approach integrates Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), attachment-based work, and Adlerian principles. These frameworks help us understand how your thoughts, relationships, and early experiences shape your current patterns.

At the same time, I believe that true healing goes beyond any one method. I take a holistic approach to counseling that considers your emotional, relational, spiritual, medical, and behavioral needs.

Whether you are seeking anxiety therapy, trauma counseling, or couples counseling in Bellingham, our work together will focus on helping you gain insight, develop practical tools, and create lasting change.

WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT

My promise to you is simple: I will create a safe, nonjudgmental space where you can truly be yourself. I will show up with an open heart, remain fully present, and listen deeply to your experiences.

If you are looking for counseling in Bellingham or Whatcom County, I am here to support you. Together, we will move at your pace, working through the obstacles that have been holding you back so you can step into a life that feels more grounded, peaceful, and aligned with your values.

I am here to help you recognize the strengths that already live within you and support you as you build on them—so you can move forward with clarity, confidence, and a deeper sense of fulfillment.

A PERSONAL NOTE

I believe that grace is a central part of the healing process. It allows you to soften the way you relate to yourself, release the pressure to be perfect, and begin to approach your life with greater compassion and honesty.

It is a privilege to walk alongside clients as they move toward healing, self-acceptance, and deeper connection—with themselves, with others, and, for those who desire it, with their faith.

“Over every mountain there is a path, although it may not be seen from the valley.”
